Job Descriptions

Chief Technical Director

To supply Technical Direction, guidance and Teaching for all schools that are members of the Alliance. This is a non-style appointment that deals with all aspects of helping members reach their potential within their disciplines. Not being style specific allows a freer analysis of body mechanics. It should deal with all aspects including Kata, Kihon and Kumite development. This position is a unanimous appointment by the Head Instructors from the Member Dojos at the time of its inception. That person can be removed from his/her appointment only be unanimous vote from all current members.

The Chief Technical Director will be held responsible to mediate all matters concerning the Alliance where a decision cannot be reached internally by it's members. He/she will not have any administrative or financial say into how dojos are run. In these matters, guidance only will be given when asked.


Technical Liaisons

The Technical Liaisons are tested for their positions and the majority of TL's will be Head Instructors or put forward by their Head Instructors for testing. They must be of sufficient Rank and have full cooperation of their prospective dojos.

Their job description includes taking direction from the Chief Technical Director and passing that information to all Head Instructors. They will attend Technical seminars twice a year and act as mediators in any internal disputes.

This position should also include seats on a testing panel. This panel will be used in testing Dan levels only. Their comments along with the Head Instructors and the Chief Technical Director will be used to adjudicate potential candidates.

This panel is also responsible for checking credentials on new prospective members ad filing out written reports of findings. They, along with the Chief Technical Director will unanimously vote on membership.

All Technical Liaisons will be registered by name, rank and school with the Chief Technical Director. They have no say in how dojos are run, unless they are also the Head Instructor. Also, their primary job is to pass technical support on to all.


Head Instructors

The Head Instructor of individual or groups of dojos. They run their schools or organizations with immunity. Finances are their own business and are they are in charge of all aspects of running their programs, taking Technical Direction only from their Chief Instructors or the Alliance's Chief Technical Director. They are responsible for all Technical proficiency of those directly under their tutelage. They must also be in attendance for all Dan testing of their proposed candidates. If they personally cannot attend meetings, workshops etc., they must send their Technical Liaison or a chosen student that can make binding decisions.

All Dojo Heads will be registered with the Chief Technical Director by Rank and seniority. All voting by dojo heads should be unanimous.


Sempai

These are Senior members of a dojo that are appointed by their Head Instructor. They are directly responsible to their Sensei for job descriptions. They can be sent by to represent their Sensei or dojo when asked. They should also be present at Senior workouts when asked to attend.

This position is not necessarily one of seniority but of appointment. All Sempai names and Ranks will be registered with the Chief Technical Director.
